Meet the Chef: Executive Chef Salvatore Sciuscio - Edelweiss Restaurant

I was born in Italy and moved to Germany when I was about 14 years old.  I started working as a dishwasher in an Italian restaurant in Germany.  I worked my way up from dishwasher to one of the lead cooks over the next 29 years.  I met my wife Ramona in 1982, she was American but we started our family in Germany.  She was homesick and wanted to come back to America so I followed her.  Ramona came over first and got a job at Edelweiss.  She got me a job in the kitchen and I trained under Anna Perez for 7 years learning all of the German recipes.  She just retired about 3 years ago after 35 years at Edelweiss and now I am running the kitchen.
