Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo brings you animal experiences like you've never had before. Hand-feed the giraffe herd, and see Rocky Mountain animals up-close and personal. New this year, experience Encounter Africa, made possible by a $13.5 million capital campaign, which provides new homes for elephants, lions, meerkats and a black rhinoceros. The Steelworks Museum of Industry and Culture tells the 121 year history of the Colorado Fuel & Iron Company (CF&I). Exhibits cover coal and iron ore mining, steel production, labor relations and the ethnic groups that comprised the cultural identity of the company. Outside you can see the CF&I Mine Rescue Car No.1 (MRC), built in 1882. Take exit 97A, then left on Abriendo for 3 blocks.
